Matter

v1.3 March 2026

Standard Definition

"Everything that has mass and occupies space"

Definition in the Law of Equalization

Matter is the carrier, storage medium, and condenser of energy. It is functionally subordinate to energy.

Properties

  • Secondary to energy
  • Serves as an energy store with limited capacity
  • Has intrinsic energy (intrinsic state)
  • Has intrinsic capacity (maximum absorption capacity)
  • Can back-couple energy (= visible) or not (= invisible)
  • Organizes itself according to energy ratios

Consequences

  • Matter without energy is unstable/non-existent
  • Overloading leads to instability or release
  • Underloading leads to energy absorption
  • State of matter = state of energy

Distinction

  • Visible matter: Back-couples energy (photons are modulated)
  • Dark matter: Does not back-couple energy (invisible to us)

Metaphor

Matter is like a sponge — it can absorb, store, and release water (energy). The sponge exists without water, but its properties change with water content.
